HIV and AIDS - Everybody's Concern
A Global Concern
HIV/AIDS is a global epidemic. Some 33 million people worldwide are living with HIV or AIDS. Over 20 million people have died. Over 6,800 people a day are becoming infected. This is a global problem that needs a global solution.
A Local Concern
As a community we need to be aware. We need to prevent the spread of HIV, and we need to support those living with or affected by HIV or AIDS. Straight or gay, young or old, male or female, HIV can affect anyone.
Stigma and discrimination are major concerns, while myths and misinformation continue to colour people's attitudes to HIV and AIDS. We strive to provide accurate information, and we work to combat discrimination in our ongoing work. Contact us for details.
